Tragedy struck in Palm Desert on Friday night, March 15, 2024, as a 52-year-old pedestrian lost their life after being struck by a vehicle.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the fatal collision occurred shortly after 10 p.m. along Interstate 10, situated between Jefferson Street and Washington Street.
According to authorities, a 2016 Scion traveling west in the second lane of I-10 collided with the pedestrian. Sadly, the victim, identified as 52-year-old Dustin B., succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
The driver of the Scion cooperated with authorities and remained at the site until the arrival of CHP officers. At present, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are currently under investigation, with further details pending.
