A tragic collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle claimed the life of a 62-year-old rider in Palm Springs on Wednesday night, March 20, 2024.

The Palm Springs Police Department reported that the fatal incident occurred at approximately 9:22 p.m. at the intersection of East Amado Road and Hermosa Drive.

The elderly motorcyclist, whose identity has not been disclosed, was rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center for urgent medical attention. Regrettably, despite medical efforts, the rider succumbed to the injuries sustained in the collision.

Details regarding the cause of the crash and the responsible party remain unclear at this time. However, preliminary investigations suggest that the collision occurred as the vehicle was executing a turn.

Following the tragic event, a section of East Amado Road was closed for several hours, reopening at approximately 5:00 a.m. the following day, Thursday.
