MORENO VALLEY, CA — Two individuals lost their lives, and three others sustained injuries in a three-vehicle collision in Moreno Valley on Monday night, February 5, 2024.
According to reports from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station, the tragic crash occurred around 10:35 p.m. at the intersection of Kitching Street and Cactus Avenue.
Authorities stated that the collision involved three vehicles: a gray Dodge Ram, a white Dodge Ram, and a black Lexus.
The impact of the crash caused the gray Dodge Ram to be thrown into the nearby flood channel. Tragically, the driver was later found deceased and carried away by the floodwaters into the Ramona Expressway and Evans Road in Perris. The passenger was rescued at the scene and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the driver of the black Lexus was pronounced dead at the crash site, while the occupants of the white Dodge Ram sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received medical attention.
The cause of the collision is under investigation by authorities, and it is currently unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
Authorities are urging any potential witnesses to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
