Corona, CA – A tragic collision occurred on Friday afternoon, resulting in the death of a 36-year-old man after his Kia sedan collided with a bus. The incident took place around 1 p.m. at the intersection of 6th Street and Grand Boulevard in Corona, according to reports from Corona Police Cpl. Tobias Kouroubacalis.
Jorge Vera was eastbound on 6th Street in his Kia sedan, reportedly at a high rate of speed, when the collision occurred. The sedan rear-ended a Riverside Transit Agency bus that was stopped at the Grand Boulevard intersection. Despite emergency response efforts, Vera, the sole occupant in his vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The bus driver emerged uninjured, while two passengers sustained minor injuries, as per Kouroubacalis.
