Phoenix, AZ – On December 28, 2024, at approximately 2:30 AM, Phoenix Police and Fire responded to a single-vehicle collision near the 4000 block of West Thomas Road, at the intersection of 40th Avenue.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a pickup truck that had collided with a tree and rolled onto its side. The driver was trapped inside the vehicle, and emergency responders worked quickly to extricate the individual and provide medical attention.
Despite life-saving efforts by firefighters, the driver was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene.
Phoenix Police have established a hard closure of Thomas Road between 40th Avenue and 39th Avenue. The closure is expected to remain in place for several hours as the Vehicular Crimes Unit investigates the collision.
