Anaheim, CA – On December 27, 2024, at approximately 8:12 PM, Anaheim Police officers were involved in a shooting incident while responding to a robbery call for service at the 1200 block of E. South Street.call
Upon arrival, officers encountered a male suspect. During the interaction, an officer-involved shooting occurred, striking the suspect. Officers immediately rendered first aid, and Anaheim Fire & Rescue personnel were dispatched to provide further medical treatment. Despite efforts, the suspect, a 30-year-old male adult, was pronounced deceased shortly after being transported to the hospital. A realistic-looking replica firearm was located at the scene.
Four officers were involved in the incident and sustained no injuries. The Orange County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office will release the suspect’s identity once confirmed.
In response to the type of weapon recovered the California Department of Justice has been brought in to assist with the investigation into the officer-involved shooting. The Anaheim Police Department’s Homicide Detectives, Major Incident Review Team (MIRT), Internal Affairs, the Police Review Board (PRB), and Office of Independent Review (OIR) will conduct a thorough review of the incident.
