Chandler, AZ — Early on December 2, 2024, at approximately 12:46 AM, Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers responded to reports of a pedestrian struck on the westbound I-10 transition ramp to the eastbound L-202 in Chandler.
A 911 caller, who was performing CPR on the male victim, relayed the emergency to dispatch. When troopers arrived, they found the man unresponsive in the roadway and continued CPR until Chandler Fire crews arrived on the scene. The victim was then transported to a local hospital in critical condition, with Chandler Fire using a LUCAS device to assist with CPR.
At the scene, two vehicles were parked on the shoulder, but it remains unclear whether either vehicle was involved in the collision. The ramp was closed for several hours as troopers and Gila River Police worked to secure the area and investigate the incident.
