On the afternoon of December 18, 2024, at approximately 1:34 p.m., a uniformed United States Postal Service employee was arrested for suspected DUI following a solo vehicle crash in the 800 block of West Rose Road in San Gabriel.
The incident occurred near Coolidge Elementary School, where the postal worker’s mail truck collided with a wall in a residential area. San Gabriel Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene to treat the driver, who sustained scrapes and open wounds. Police interrogated the individual before being handcuffed onto a stretcher and transported to a hospital for further evaluation.
Due to radio encryption, authorities have not yet confirmed the specifics of the suspected crime. The San Gabriel Police Department’s Public Information Officer is expected to release additional details as the investigation progresses.
At the time of the crash, the mail truck was reportedly loaded with mail, but it is unclear if any mail was affected. Both San Gabriel Police and Fire Departments are handling the ongoing investigation.
