At 3:20 AM on December 1, 2024, units from the Apple Valley Fire Protection District (AVFPD) responded to a fully involved structure fire at 13099 Pocono Road. The blaze resulted in three individuals suffering injuries, all of whom were transported to local hospitals.
Two RVs on the property were completely destroyed in the fire, as well as a neighbor’s RV. Neighbors reported hearing explosions prior to the fire, suggesting that propane tanks may have been involved. Fire investigators are interviewing victims and nearby residents to determine the cause. Both Apple Valley Fire and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department (SBCSD) Arson Division are leading the investigation. Southern California Edison (SCE) and Southwest Gas crews are also on-site assisting with the situation. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
