Early Thursday morning, at approximately 4:22 AM, a vehicle crashed into the Chevron gas station at 1501 N Coast Highway, causing significant damage but fortunately resulting in no injuries.
Emergency responders arrived promptly after multiple 911 calls reported the incident. The vehicle had driven through the convenience store’s front doors, shattering glass and leaving the entrance heavily damaged. Firefighters inspected the building for structural issues and potential gas leaks, ultimately determining there were no immediate hazards.
The driver, who remained at the scene, was unharmed, as were the two employees inside the store. Despite their understandable shock, the employees confirmed they were not injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine what led to the driver losing control. The gas station is currently closed pending further inspections to ensure the building is safe for reopening.
