A woman driving a Scion XB miraculously survived a terrifying crash early Thursday morning when her vehicle slammed into the rear of a parked box truck. The force of the collision tore the side of the car apart, resembling a “tuna can,” according to witnesses.
The driver’s sister, who arrived at the scene, expressed shock at her sister’s survival, stating she had no idea how the driver managed to escape the mangled wreckage.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) transported the driver to a nearby hospital with injuries that remain unknown at this time. Notably, the emergency responders did not need to use the Jaws of Life to extract her from the vehicle.
The LAPD Southeast Division is handling the investigation. Authorities have not released further details about the cause of the crash.
