On Saturday, November 23, 2024, at around 9:50 PM, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on the eastbound 8 Freeway in Mission Valley, involving a pedestrian and three vehicles. The incident began when the lead vehicle struck the pedestrian, causing a chain reaction that included two additional cars. The driver of the lead vehicle reported that after being hit, the pedestrian jumped over the center median and crossed all four lanes of the westbound 8 Freeway.
Emergency responders, including California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers and firefighters, conducted a thorough search for the pedestrian but were unable to locate them. Fortunately, no injuries were reported by the drivers involved in the crash.
The CHP has initiated an investigation into the incident and is asking anyone with information to come forward. Authorities have not yet identified the pedestrian involved in the collision.
