On the morning of November 23, 2024, a single-vehicle crash occurred on northbound SR-125 near Jamacha Road in Spring Valley. At approximately 3:57 a.m., a male driver traveling in the #1 lane struck a set of water barrels designed to protect vehicles from colliding with K-rails.
The impact caused the car to veer across all lanes of traffic, losing a wheel before coming to a stop in the middle of the roadway. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers quickly responded, pushing the vehicle to the left shoulder to prevent further incidents.
Paramedics assessed the driver at the scene, confirming he was uninjured. However, a DUI evaluation led to the driver being tested and subsequently arrested for driving under the influence.
Authorities are reminding motorists of the dangers of impaired driving and urging drivers to make responsible choices to avoid similar incidents.
