In the early hours of Friday morning, Phoenix Police attempted to stop a reckless driver in a white Jeep SRT near 59th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard around 2:15 AM. The driver refused to pull over, prompting officers to classify the situation as felony flight.
Due to the driver’s erratic behavior, officers opted not to pursue the vehicle directly, instead monitoring it from a safe distance while awaiting support from a police air unit.
Shortly after, the driver lost control on Encanto Boulevard near 56th Street. The Jeep veered off the road, colliding with multiple parked vehicles before crashing into an occupied house.
Police quickly apprehended the driver at the scene, and Phoenix Fire Department transported him to a local hospital for a precautionary evaluation. Two firearms were recovered from the vehicle.
While no residents sustained injuries, the crash caused significant structural damage to the home, displacing its occupants. Authorities deemed the house unsafe, and several vehicles, including the suspect’s Jeep, were towed from the area.
The incident remains under investigation.
