A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at approximately 3 p.m. on the southbound I-215 near Center Street in Riverside. A collision involving a motorcycle and a semi-truck resulted in the motorcyclist’s death.
Emergency response teams, including Cal Fire, Riverside County Fire Department, Riverside Fire Department, and the California Highway Patrol, quickly arrived at the scene and confirmed the fatality.
As a result of the incident, a SIG Alert was issued, shutting down all southbound lanes except for the HOV lane. The closures have caused significant traffic delays, with miles of congestion reported heading into Riverside.
