On the evening of November 16, 2024, a dramatic car chase ended in Culver City with a vehicle crashing into a house off the 405 South freeway at the Culver exit. The incident began when the California Highway Patrol (CHP) pursued a Dodge Durango northbound on the 405 from Sepulveda. The suspects exited the freeway at Washington, reentered heading south, and eventually exited at Culver, where the vehicle went out of control.
The crash resulted in significant damage to 300 feet of guardrail, leaving the Durango lodged inside a house. Fortunately, all four occupants were safely extricated by Culver City Fire Department (CCFD) and CHP officers. A known celebrity NFT scammer, identified as Raichu “Ryan,” was reportedly among the passengers. All four were detained, but only one remained in custody while the others were released.
Caltrans crews were called to repair the guardrail before the heavily damaged vehicle could be removed, as seen in footage showing a heavy tow truck extracting the Durango. No injuries to residents or bystanders were reported.
