A late-night incident at the Best Buy store on Victory Blvd in Canoga Park has left authorities puzzled after a woman was found inside the store after closing hours. At 2:45 a.m. on November 14, 2024, security personnel for Best Buy contacted the store management, reporting an intruder inside the building. Concerned about a potential burglary, the store’s management called the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) to investigate.
Upon arrival, LAPD officers discovered that the woman had been accidentally left behind when the store closed. Officers entered the store, issuing commands for anyone inside to come out with their hands up. The woman, who had apparently been missed during the closing procedure, emerged unharmed. She was detained briefly for questioning, but after a thorough investigation, it was determined that nothing had been stolen.
The cause of the oversight remains unclear, as no one noticed the woman’s presence after the store had closed. She was released after it was confirmed that no criminal activity had occurred. The LAPD’s Topanga Division is handling the investigation.
