On the evening of November 12, 2024, a dramatic incident unfolded on Stunt Road in Los Angeles when a rented Corvette careened off the road and plunged approximately 50 feet into the bushes. The Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) and California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded promptly to the scene after receiving reports of the crash.
When firefighters arrived, they discovered one individual standing near the road, while another remained trapped inside the vehicle. Utilizing specialized equipment, rescue crews skillfully rappelled down to the vehicle, extricating the second occupant and safely bringing them back to the roadside. The individual was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
Preliminary investigations by CHP revealed that the driver, who was operating the rented Corvette, lost control due to oversteering while driving at an excessive speed, leading the car to veer off the cliff. Authorities are continuing to assess the circumstances surrounding the crash.
