In the early hours of November 4, 2024, a semi-truck overturned on the eastbound interchange between the 605 and 10 freeways, leading to significant traffic disruptions. The incident, reported at approximately 2:56 a.m., prompted a swift response from the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) and California Highway Patrol (CHP) in Baldwin Park.
Initial reports indicated that a person might have been trapped inside the overturned truck; however, upon arrival, emergency crews found no one was trapped. Another vehicle was involved in the collision but sustained no injuries.
Due to the overturned semi, which was loaded with an undisclosed quantity of onions, CHP issued a SigAlert, affecting the northbound 605 to the eastbound 10 interchanges. The alert remained in place for about two hours as authorities worked to clear the scene and assess the situation.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation. Traffic on the freeway has since resumed normal flow, though drivers in the area were advised to remain cautious due to possible residual congestion.
