In the early hours of November 3, 2024, a traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Figueroa Street and Rosecrans Avenue in Los Angeles’ Harbor Gateway neighborhood. The incident involved an LAPD SUV and a red sedan, leading to a severe crash in which the police vehicle was slightly T-boned and overturned.
Two LAPD officers were injured in the crash and were transported to a nearby hospital, though their conditions remain unknown. Initial reports indicate that officers at the scene conducted a field sobriety test on the driver of the red sedan. While it is unconfirmed if alcohol was a factor, officers did take the driver into custody on suspicion of DUI. It is also unclear if the driver of the red sedan may have run a red light prior to the collision. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the events that led to this incident.
