firefighters responded to a large-scale fire at an agricultural distribution facility located at 3132 E Pleasant Valley Road in unincorporated Oxnard. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered intense flames engulfing a 200-by-100-foot building, as well as nearby greenhouses and a small pallet yard.
Firefighters launched a defensive strategy to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to adjacent structures. To bolster firefighting efforts, an Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) engine from Camarillo Airport was deployed. Adding to the urgency of the response, hazardous materials placards were visible on the building, signaling the presence of dangerous chemicals. Hazmat units arrived promptly to handle any potential risk of chemical exposure.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries as a result of the fire. The cause remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the origin and potential factors contributing to the incident.
