In a tragic incident early Thursday morning, a fire engulfed a home near the intersection of Wigwam Avenue and Jones Boulevard in Las Vegas, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, including two children, and injuring two more. The injured residents, in their desperate attempt to escape, leaped from a second-story window, sustaining injuries.
Clark County Fire Chief John Steinbeck reported that firefighters arrived swiftly and launched an aggressive offensive to combat the blaze. As they moved to the second floor, the intense heat forced them to retreat. Teams then shifted focus to search-and-rescue efforts on the ground level, but a structural collapse cut the operation short, prompting firefighters to switch to defensive measures to protect nearby residences from fire spread. Despite the challenges, crews managed to extinguish the blaze within seven minutes of arrival.
Currently, Clark County Fire Department investigators, alongside the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), are working at the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
