On the evening of October 14, 2024, at approximately 10:10 PM, a pursuit of an armed and dangerous suspect ended in a deputy-involved shooting on the northbound 15 Freeway, just north of Highway 138 in the Cajon Pass area.
The suspect, who had led law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase for about an hour, began in Victorville and spanned several major Southern California freeways, including the 15, 215, 210, and 10 Freeways. The pursuit came to a halt after deputies deployed spike strips at the Cajon Scales, successfully immobilizing the suspect’s vehicle. Shortly after, a PIT maneuver was performed, bringing the pursuit to an end.
Gunfire erupted following the maneuver, leading to injuries for the suspect and possibly two deputies. At this time, specific details regarding the extent of the injuries remain limited.
