A violent shootout between two groups ended tragically Sunday night, leaving one young man dead and two suspects in custody. The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. at 617 Mayford Street in Houston.
According to reports, a confrontation between the two groups escalated into gunfire. One group initially left the scene but returned shortly after, firing more shots at their rivals. A male, believed to be between 18 and 20 years old, was shot during the exchange and pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department (HFD) personnel.
Houston Police Department (HPD) officers, responding to the scene, received a description of the suspects’ vehicle. A few blocks away, officers spotted a vehicle matching the description, which led to a brief pursuit. The chase ended when the vehicle crashed, and two suspects were detained.
