The fire, which spread rapidly, has threatened several structures, including homes, as it burned dangerously close to residential areas.
Evacuation orders were immediately issued for all areas of the Piru Canyon Campground, including Dominguez Canyon. Dozens of fire engines were dispatched to provide structural protection. Additional footage shows the blaze encroaching on homes, creating an urgent need for assistance.
Campers in the area hastily abandoned campsites, leaving behind personal belongings, such as children’s toys, bikes, tents, food, and RVs, as they fled for safety.
