[09-22-2024] Fatal Shooting in Torrance: Suspect Apprehended After Fleeing the Scene

On the afternoon of September 22, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred at the intersection of Sepulveda Blvd and Normandie Ave in Torrance. At approximately 3:41 p.m., first responders were dispatched to the scene where they found a victim lying in the middle of the road. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported hearing at least five gunshots before the suspect sped off in a blue Chevrolet Silverado 1500. One witness followed the vehicle and provided information to law enforcement, leading to the arrest of a suspect a few miles away by Carson Sheriffs. The suspect is now in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.

As a result, Sepulveda Blvd between Normandie Ave and Marigold Ave remains closed while authorities continue their work at the scene.
