On the night of September 15th, 2024, at approximately 9:45 p.m., a multi-vehicle crash occurred on the northbound 110 Freeway at the Century/Manchester exit in South Los Angeles. The incident initially involved three vehicles, including two cars and an SUV, which were occupying the HOV and fast lanes, waiting for assistance from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).
Tragically, as the vehicles waited, a fourth vehicle collided into the rear of a white Range Rover, further intensifying the crash. The force of the impact trapped the driver of the fourth vehicle inside their car, which began to emit heavy smoke. Fortunately, the car did not catch fire, though the situation remained tense.
Emergency responders acted quickly, transporting two individuals to the hospital: the driver of the fourth vehicle and a female passenger from the white SUV, who suffered additional injuries from the collision. Authorities are actively investigating the crash, though no signs of DUI have been reported at this time.
Motorists are urged to exercise caution when navigating the area, as the investigation continues.
