In the early hours of September 13, 2024, a massive fire broke out at a three-story apartment building in the framing stages at 877 Bunker Hill, located in downtown Los Angeles (DTLA). The blaze, which began around 4:00 a.m., spread rapidly, prompting the evacuation of nearby residents and their pets from surrounding buildings as a precautionary measure.
At least ten individuals from an adjacent apartment complex were displaced after their building also caught fire. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time. Local firefighters have responded to several small fires at this location in the past month, raising concerns within the community.
Emergency crews are still on the scene, working to fully extinguish the flames while investigating the origin of the blaze. No injuries have been reported thus far.
