In the early hours of September 7, 2024, at approximately 3:10 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop near 18th Street and McKinley Avenue in National City. Two males were pulled over for a routine violation, which led to a prolonged interaction between the suspects and the officers. As the conversation unfolded, the situation escalated when additional officers were called for backup.
Upon closer inspection, the male passenger was seen wearing a holster with a concealed pistol under his shirt. Officers swiftly removed the driver from the vehicle and ordered the passenger out at gunpoint. A subsequent search of the car revealed a large quantity of illegal narcotics packaged for sale, along with a loaded “Ghost” gun and two magazines.
