Pearland, TX – A tragic incident unfolded on the evening of August 28, 2024, after a police pursuit ended in the death of a 14-year-old male. The chase began at around 9:50 P.M. in the 14000 Block of State Highway 288 Northbound, when a Pearland Police Department officer was pursuing the teen’s vehicle. The driver lost control, crashing into the center concrete barrier. The suspect fled the scene on foot, running westbound across State Highway 288’s main and HOV lanes towards the southbound lanes.
