Mead Valley, CA – A two-vehicle crash involving a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department deputy occurred at the intersection of Brown Street and Oakwood Street on the evening of August 27, 2024. At approximately 9:51 p.m., California Highway Patrol (CHP) Riverside units responded to the scene after receiving reports of the collision.
According to the preliminary investigation, the crash involved a Toyota Camry, driven by a male, traveling eastbound on Oakwood Street, and a Ford Explorer patrol vehicle driven by the deputy, heading northbound on Brown Street. The circumstances leading to the crash are still under investigation.
The collision resulted in moderate to major injuries for the driver and passenger of the Toyota Camry. The deputy sustained minor injuries. At this time, alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the incident.
Officer Biczo of the CHP is leading the investigation. Authorities are urging any witnesses who may have observed the crash to come forward and provide information to aid in the ongoing investigation. Witnesses are encouraged to contact the California Highway Patrol with any details that could assist in determining the cause of the crash.
