A significant fire erupted at a large pallet yard off Highway 210 near Palm Avenue in San Bernardino, causing substantial damage and destruction. The blaze, which ignited around 6:21 PM, quickly engulfed several commercial semi-trucks parked within the yard.
Initial reports from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) prompted the dispatch of fire departments to the scene. Although the fire had not yet impacted Highway 210 at the time of notification, it was evident that the pallet yard was fully involved. The fire produced a dense column of black smoke visible for miles.
Firefighters responded swiftly, accessing the scene from both the south side of the pallet yard and the north side from a neighboring property. They utilized aerial equipment, including an engine extension ladder and deck cannon, to combat the flames from above, while other crews mounted a ground attack with hose lines.
After approximately one hour of intense firefighting efforts, the blaze was declared under control. A fire investigator has been requested to determine the cause of the fire, which remains unknown at this time.
No additional details are available, and the incident remains under investigation.
