In a troubling incident on the South 5 & 14 Split in Los Angeles, a California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer was struck by a vehicle while performing duties to assist a stalled car. The CHP officer was engaged in blocking lanes to facilitate the safe removal of the stalled vehicle when the accident occurred.
According to preliminary reports, the officer had exited their patrol car to manage the scene when they were struck by a black Tesla. The exact circumstances leading up to the collision remain unclear, but it is believed that the driver of the Tesla remained at the scene following the incident.
Emergency services responded promptly, and the officer was transported to Holy Cross Medical Center in the back of a patrol car. As of now, the officer’s condition remains undisclosed.
