San Bernardino, CA – Early in the morning on August 17, 2024, a high-speed pursuit led to the arrest of a suspect after a dramatic series of events in San Bernardino.
At approximately 12:25 AM, California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers initiated a traffic stop on a white Honda sedan traveling at high speed. The driver initially complied but soon fled as officers approached. The pursuit began immediately, with the suspect driving recklessly through surface streets.
The chase intensified as the suspect continued speeding near 28th Street and F Street. However, the driver encountered a dip in the road, causing significant damage to the front of the vehicle. This incident led to a brief loss of visual contact with the Honda.
CHP officers quickly re-located the suspect’s vehicle in the area of North Pershing Avenue, south of West Marshall Boulevard. At this location, it was discovered that the suspect had switched to a Toyota pickup truck and was accompanied by two other males.
All three individuals were detained at the scene. Following the arrest of the driver, the situation was brought under control without further incident. The case remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the full extent of the damages and any additional charges.
