San Mateo, CA— On the evening of August 13, 2024, a tense situation unfolded in San Mateo when officers responded to reports of an attempted armed robbery near South Norfolk Street and East Hillsdale Boulevard. The incident, which occurred around 8:00 PM, involved three suspects who allegedly tried to enter a vehicle and then threatened a victim by placing a gun against their back.
Upon receiving the call, law enforcement quickly arrived at the scene and was directed to a suspect vehicle. Officers initiated a high-risk traffic stop, successfully apprehending the first suspect. A second suspect, who had hidden in the vehicle’s trunk, was eventually discovered and taken into custody after complying with police commands.
