A family dispute in the northwest Las Vegas valley escalated into violence on Monday evening, leaving two individuals injured, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD).
The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on the 6400 block of Hartman Street, near the intersection of Torrey Pines Drive and Craig Road. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a woman who had been stabbed multiple times. She was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where she remains in critical but stable condition, with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Another individual in the home sustained a minor injury during the altercation but did not require hospitalization.
The suspect, whose identity has not been released, was apprehended without incident by LVMPD officers. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the stabbing, and charges are pending.
Residents in the area expressed shock at the incident, noting that the neighborhood is usually quiet. The LVMPD has reassured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
