Lancaster, CA – A massive fire broke out at a car recycling yard located at 421 W I Avenue in Lancaster at approximately 3:12 p.m. today, engulfing over 1,500 vehicles in flames.
Witnesses reported seeing thick plumes of black smoke billowing into the sky, visible from miles away. The intense fire prompted a swift response from the Los Angeles County Fire Department. An LA County Fire helicopter was seen making multiple water drops in an effort to control the blaze.
Firefighters are working tirelessly to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and no injuries have been reported at this time. Authorities are urging residents to avoid the area and stay indoors if possible due to the heavy smoke.
