A tragic incident unfolded early Saturday morning at a Metro parking lot in Leimert Park, where a man was shot and killed. The shooting occurred around 12:30 AM at the park-and-ride facility located at the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and West 43rd Street.
According to initial reports, the victim was discovered in the middle of the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The call to authorities was made by a person believed to be a bus driver.
Upon arrival, police found what appeared to be a security guard speaking with officers at the scene. A group of distressed individuals soon arrived, identifying the victim as a man named Brandon, a 40-year-old father. LAPD officers were seen speaking with the group as they processed the scene.
At this time, the motive behind the shooting remains unknown. LAPD homicide detectives have arrived on the scene and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
