At approximately 2:25 PM on July 24, 2024, the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) was dispatched to a significant commercial fire at the intersection of 2600 North River Avenue and Garvey Avenue in Rosemead.
Upon arrival, firefighters were met with a large volume of smoke emanating from an unidentified source. Further investigation revealed a substantial outside fire threatening two nearby commercial buildings.
As the fire spread, one of the commercial units suffered damage, prompting the LACoFD to call for additional resources. This escalation was necessary both to combat the growing blaze and to relieve the crews already engaged in firefighting efforts.
LACoFD personnel are currently working to contain the fire and prevent further damage to the surrounding area. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no injuries have been reported at this time.
Residents and businesses in the vicinity are advised to stay clear of the area to allow emergency services to operate efficiently. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
