os Angeles, July 23, 2024 — A high-speed pursuit involving the California Highway Patrol (CHP) concluded with a dramatic accident late Sunday night in Boyle Heights. The incident occurred around 10:55 p.m. on North Soto Street, following a chase that began on the 6th Street Bridge.
According to CHP officials, officers were pursuing a motorcycle that was reportedly involved in reckless driving. The chase continued through the Boyle Heights area until the rider veered into an alley and collided with a car that was backing out of a driveway.
Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene, finding the motorcycle rider unconscious and barely breathing. CHP officers performed CPR until Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) paramedics arrived. The injured rider was transported to a nearby hospital, with their condition remaining undisclosed at this time.
