At approximately 2:00 AM on July 22, firefighters from Glendale and Phoenix responded to a report of a house fire at 6221 W. Claremont Street in Glendale. Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke emanating from the single-story home.
Firefighters immediately extended hand lines for an aggressive fire attack, while ladder crews ascended to the roof for vertical ventilation. As they cut ventilation holes, heavy flames erupted from the roof. Despite the intensity of the fire, firefighters were able to achieve a quick knockdown.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. Fire investigators are currently at the scene working to determine the cause of the fire. The status of whether the home was occupied at the time remains unknown.
