In a daring overnight incident, a group of individuals orchestrated a bold theft at the RICH LA Clothing & SNKRS store located at Century & Van Ness. At approximately 2:00 am, witnesses observed a blue car and a white Kia sedan entering the store’s parking lot.
Eyewitnesses reported that several individuals quickly exited the white Kia, which was then deliberately driven into the storefront, causing significant damage. Approximately ten individuals swiftly entered the store, where they proceeded to seize a substantial quantity of clothing and sneakers.
Remarkably, the white Kia was left running for over two hours before the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) arrived to safely shut off the vehicle. However, despite the severity of the incident, local law enforcement from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) had not arrived at the scene by 4:14 am, leaving store owners and witnesses concerned about response times.
According to the store owner, who spoke with LAPD officers, the stolen merchandise is estimated to be valued at around $25,000 in shoes and an additional $500 in shirts. This incident marks a significant loss for the business and has left the community shocked by the audacity of the crime.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by businesses in maintaining security, especially during late-night hours.
Local residents and business owners expressed their concerns over the incident, highlighting the need for increased security measures and prompt police responses to such incidents in the future.
