A high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle ended dramatically on the night of July 6, 2024. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) pursued the suspects through the streets of South LA in an intense 20-minute chase.
The pursuit began when officers identified a stolen vehicle and attempted to pull it over. The suspects, however, chose to flee, leading the LAPD on a high-speed chase that weaved through several neighborhoods. The chase came to a halt on 61st Street near Fig.
Upon stopping, two suspects exited the vehicle and attempted to evade capture by fleeing on foot. However, the LAPD deployed K9 units that quickly tracked and apprehended the suspects. Both suspects were found and bit by the K9 units during the capture.
Emergency services responded to the scene promptly. One suspect, suffering from dog bite injuries, was transported by the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) to a nearby hospital for treatment. The other suspect was taken into custody by the LAPD.
The LAPD continues to investigate the incident, and charges are expected to be filed against the suspects for vehicle theft and evading law enforcement. The quick response and effective coordination between the LAPD and LAFD ensured the suspects were apprehended without further incident.
