A high-speed crash in Seattle’s Magnolia neighborhood resulted in the death of the driver involved. At approximately 8:47 PM, a vehicle traveling at an excessive speed lost control and collided side-on with another car at the intersection of 15th Avenue W and W Garfield.
Emergency services arrived on the scene to find the driver of the speeding vehicle entrapped inside the wreckage. Despite the quick response of Seattle Fire Department (SFD) personnel and the efforts of rescue units, the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The severity of the damage necessitated the intervention of the Medical Examiner, who determined that the car would need to be cut apart for body extrication. A specialized rescue unit was dispatched to assist with the extraction process.
The Seattle Police Department (SPD) is investigating the incident, with Officer Munoz overseeing the case. The Seattle Department of Transportation is also involved as part of the response to the crash.
