In a tragic incident on Saturday night, three individuals were fatally shot at a large homeless encampment situated near the San Gabriel River in Downey.
Downey Fire Department (FD) responded to the scene following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, Downey Police Department (PD) informed the FD that they had located three victims, all suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics from Downey FD assessed the situation and pronounced all three victims deceased on-site.
The shooting occurred at a homeless encampment directly underneath the 105 freeway. The crime scene was cordoned off with police tape as investigations began.
