On the evening of June 23, a parent called 911 to report that several children were stuck atop a ride at the Conejo Valley Days festival. Fortunately, none of the children were injured, as the ride had simply broken down.
Firefighters arrived promptly to assist in getting the children safely out of the ride. Multiple ambulances were on standby as a precaution, and a technical rescue response team from Ventura County Fire was also present. Additionally, a ladder truck was positioned next to the ride in case its ladder needed to be used for the rescue.
After ensuring the safety of all the children, the ride was shut down for the remainder of the event.
