San Diego, CA – An early morning incident on June 10, 2024, in the 200 block of South 36th Street led to the arrest of a woman following a series of violent and erratic behaviors.
At approximately 4:36 a.m., a female resident contacted her husband, who was at work, reporting that an unknown woman was outside their home, causing a commotion. The suspect was reportedly breaking objects and shouting for the resident to leave the house.
Upon arriving at the scene, the husband observed the woman hitting the front of a neighbor’s house. As he attempted to park his vehicle, the suspect approached him aggressively, screamed, and punched him in the head. The husband retreated and promptly called 911 for assistance.
When officers arrived, they found the suspect in the driveway. She had already thrown a potted plant through a window of the house. Armed with a metal rod, she moved into the street and confronted the officers, refusing to surrender and threatening to injure them.
As the situation escalated, the woman advanced towards the officers, prompting them to release a K-9 unit. The suspect attempted to attack the K-9, which allowed officers the opportunity to subdue her. They managed to grab the woman and body-slam her to the ground, successfully arresting her without injury to herself, the officers, the K-9, or the victims.
The San Diego Police Department has not released further details about the suspect’s identity or possible motives. The investigation is ongoing.
