Houston, TX – A verbal altercation between two groups at a nearby taco truck escalated into a deadly shooting early Sunday morning, March 30, 2025, in the Spring Branch area of Houston.
The incident began shortly before 1 a.m. when two groups reportedly clashed at a taco truck in the vicinity of Kempwood Drive. During the heated argument, one group allegedly shattered the window of a pickup truck belonging to the other party, sparking a physical fight. Following the confrontation, both groups left the scene.
According to investigators, a male from the group whose truck window was broken then drove to the residence of a member of the opposing group. Upon arrival at the 9600 block of Kempwood Drive, he allegedly opened fire, striking the victim multiple times.
Friends and family of the wounded individual placed him into a private vehicle and drove a short distance down the road, flagging down the Houston Fire Department at approximately 1:07 a.m. Despite efforts by emergency responders, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
