Houston, TX – A tragic chain-reaction crash on the Gulf Freeway near Griggs claimed the lives of two women in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 29, 2025.
Houston Police responded to the scene at approximately 1:18 a.m. after multiple reports of a serious collision. The incident began when a black sedan was reportedly struck from behind by an unknown vehicle, which fled the scene. The impact left the sedan disabled, facing the wrong direction in the middle of the freeway.
A woman remained inside the black sedan following the initial crash. It remains unclear whether she died from the initial impact or was killed in a subsequent collision.
Shortly after, a Ford Explorer carrying two women pulled over nearby in an attempt to help. One of the women exited the SUV to check on the disabled vehicle.
