CalFire Riverside responded to a significant residential fire at a two-story home on Winship Way early Tuesday morning. The home was fully engulfed in flames upon arrival.
Due to a lack of fire hydrants in the area, water had to be transported up the hill, delaying firefighting efforts. A water tender and several additional engines were requested to assist.
The fire caused a total loss of the residence, with the roof and walls collapsing. Compounding the challenges, at least two fire engines became stuck in the dirt and required assistance from a Southern California Edison truck for recovery.
A CalFire mechanic was called to inspect the engines for potential damage from the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and it is currently unknown if any injuries were sustained.
